Any females wishing to do so must specifically state this at the time of registration.
- All divisions are co-ed.
- For ages 6 to 8 (i.e. U9 division) all teams are Recreational only.
- For ages 9 to 17 (i.e. U11 to U18) we offer both Competitive and Recreational divisions, allowing kids to choose the level of play that best suits their skills and playing experience.
- At the time of registration players may choose to play in either Recreational or Competitive divisions subject to the following provisions:
- All boys A1 and A2 rep ice hockey players and goalies must play in their respective Competitive division.
- A3-A4 rep and house ice hockey players and goalies may play in either the Competitive or the Recreational division.
- Female players may play in either Recreational or Competitive divisions regardless of their ice hockey level.
- For players aged 18 and over (born in 2005 or earlier), we have a separate adult league, which has its own website at www.nsihla.com
- Any U18 players wishing to play in the adult league must also register to play in the U18 division of the youth league.
Discounts
We are pleased to offer the following registration discounts to help make playing in the North Shore Inline Hockey League as affordable as possible.
Store Credit for U9 & U11 Players
NSIHL is pleased to provide a store credit at Coast to Coast Hockey Shop for every player registered in the U9 and U11 divisions for the 2024 season. The credit is $100 for U9 and $60 for U11. We provide the shop with the name of every eligible player, so all you have to do to claim your credit is let them know you are with North Shore Inline Hockey and they will apply the discount to your purchase. Your credit must be used before April 30th, 2024 - no exceptions.
AGM Discount
If one parent/guardian attends the Annual General Meeting held in November 2023, that family is entitled to a $25 discount per registered child. Please note that players registering in the U9 division and all female players are already heavily discounted, so are not eligible for the AGM discount.
Family Discount
Families registering 3 or more players in a season may be eligible for a family discount of $30 per player. This is issued in the form of a refund after registration is closed. Please note that since we do not offer further discounts on our subsidized pricing (i.e. all players in U9 and all females paying half price in every other division), any of those players will be considered ineligible when calculating this discount. For example, a family registers one U9 (subsidized), one U13 and one U15. The league will provide a pro-rated $60 refund for the players in the two divisions that are paying full price. The family discount is handled manually by the registrar after registration is closed. At the time of registration you must pay the full amount and the registrar will follow up with you later to ensure the correct discount/refund is issued according to your eligibility.
FULL TIME Goalie DISCOUNT
Any goalie who plays 80% or more of all their team’s games (THIS MEANS ALL LEAGUE AND PLAYOFF GAMES) is eligible to have their registration fee refunded at the end of the season, after all the goalie equipment signed out to the team has been returned. It is solely the player’s responsibility to initiate this refund request by submitting a completed application to the League Manager at the end of the season.
Financial Assistance
Financial subsidies may be available to North Vancouver residents who are living on a low income, through either of the organizations listed below.
